Six Months?

I’ve been so busy again lately not sure where the time has gone but definitely overdue a blog post. I was looking at the calendar and realised we’re half way through the year, how the hell did that happen?

I said at the start of the year that I wanted to ‘REMAIN FOCUSED’ and I feel I have achieved that. Looking back over the past six months I have continued to be open about my HIV status, I’m still dedicated to fighting the stigma that is attached to the virus and I have also accomplished a lot in work. I’ve just found out that I have got a job that I went for, that’s the second this year, I’ve not let the fact that I’m living with a virus stop me from living a normal life, if anything it had given me determination to prove that I am just as capable as anyone else, I’m enabling myself to grasp any opportunity that I can see in front of me.

One of my proudest moments this year was attending the premier of ‘I am’ the film I helped create with a fantastic bunch of people. We’re still deciding when this is going to be available for everyone, so please bear with us, there’s no point us having made it if we’re not able to get it out to as many people as possible, and one of the best ways to do that is to take the film to festivals, but that may mean it is next year until we can ‘release’ it publicly and online.

I am also proud to be a part of the THT ‘It Starts With Me’ campaign. It’s great to be able to give something back to organisations that have helped me on my own journey with HIV and very rewarding to know that you can make a difference.

I am sure that the next half of the year will bring plenty more challenges, I’ve a new role to learn at work, my flat mate is going to Australia for a year soon and I’m moving in with my best mate which I’m really excited about! I hope I can replicate some of the success of the year so far and if I do I’ll be a very happy bunny!
